A Summary of Quaker Faith and Practice

The Quaker Postulate

There is that of God in every person, accessible by all.

Consequences

Concerning myself — the inward path

  • Love and respect myself, for I partake of God. Give attention to body, mind, and spirit, neglecting none and spoiling none.
  • Heed neither preacher nor scripture, but listen inwardly with care and discernment to what God has to say to me.

Concerning others — the outward path

  • Love and respect all people, for each partakes of God. Treat each person as my brother or sister, and neither abuse, seduce, nor attempt to deceive others.
  • Strive to make of this world a Peaceable Kingdom, where each person lives according to what God has to say to them.
